She was a God send to both me and my Rudy. In 2015 I divorced and Rudy and I moved into an apartment close to Green Dog Kennels. I worked long hours and felt bad about keeping him cooped up in an apartment when he had spent all of his life in a home with a backyard.
While playing at our dog park I met Yoda’s Mom, we talked and she shared about GDK. I was scared and worried about taking him around other dogs and leaving him all day. I met Lola and while she was busy, I guess she must have sensed my fear, she reassured me he would be okay and he was! He loved going to GDK, I would say “you wanna go to doggie daycare? "or “you want to see Lola? "and he would make a beeline to the front door.
Rudy loved going and I loved seeing him so happy going and exhausted coming home whether it was for the day, weekend getaway or a 9 day stay due to travel plans. I trusted Lola, Andrew and their team. I saw Lola and the expectations she had for those caring for the GDK dogs, she didn’t allow complacency and for that I am thankful.
I never felt that she was in business for the money because her pricing was more than reasonable, it was always about the dogs and her love for them. Many times Rudy was sent home with a bag of goodies and birthdays, they were always celebrated in a big way.
Last but not least I owe her many thanks for all the calls she took from me and all the advice she provided when Rudy was sick or not quite himself.
I truly believe meeting Lola was divinely planned and so thankful to have had someone like her love my Rudy as much as she did.
We sure do miss her and her family. Washington is lucky to have someone that loves dogs so much and is so passionate about doing right by them.
Thank you for everything! You are best!!
